The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Rhona Guertin as General Manager of Elliot Lake Retirement Living effective May 15th, 2017.
After 23 years of dedicated service to Elliot Lake Retirement Living, former general manager Richard Kennealy has retired. Both the organization and the Board of Directors would like to wish Richard well in his retirement and thank him for his years of hard work and commitment to the community.
The board expects a smooth transition into the position as Rhona was previously the Manager of Finance and Business Development for 20 years. Rhona grew up in Elliot Lake, having immigrated to Elliot Lake from Scotland at a very young age. She has both an Honours Bachelor in Commerce and a Master’s of Business Administration degree. While working for Elliot Lake Retirement Living, Rhona has been involved in numerous economic and community development initiatives in the retail, healthcare, tourism and cottaging sectors. Prior to joining Elliot Lake Retirement Living, Rhona ran her own business consulting company, was Vice-
President of Administration for a local mining equipment manufacturing company and worked for Sault College as a training consultant and trainer.
As a local, Rhona understands the benefi ts of living in this city and is committed to its success and growth.
The Board of Directors is also pleased to announce that, as part of the changes to management, Marielle Brown has been promoted to Senior Manager.
Marielle, a longtime resident has been with Elliot Lake Retirement Living for over 25 years. She has both a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master’s in Business Administration degree and has been involved in many community and economic development projects. She is the Manager of Marketing & Sales at Elliot Lake Retirement Living, and oversees the management and operations of the Hampton Inn and Stone Ridge Golf Course. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund, a position she has held for over 7 years.
The Board sees a bright future for Elliot Lake Retirement Living and the City of Elliot Lake.
